About

Andrew Solomon

I've spent two decades in finance and operations leadership, first in institutional investing, then across education and the nonprofit sector. I started my career at a leading multi-strategy investment firm, where I spent eight years building teams, recruiting senior leaders, and working on corporate strategy for the CFO.

I found my way to mission-driven work through graduate school and haven't looked back. For the past decade, I've served as CFO and COO for charter school networks and nonprofits, overseeing financial planning, real estate, legal, talent, and operations. I've guided organizations from structural deficits to sustained surpluses, managed complex construction and debt financings, led organizational restructurings, and built the teams and systems needed to support it all.

Today, through Measured Moxie Consulting, I bring that same hands-on leadership to organizations that need experienced financial and operational guidance, whether for a defined engagement or a longer-term partnership.

How I think about the work

The organizations I work with are usually at an inflection point. Growth has outpaced infrastructure. A leader has departed. The financial picture has changed faster than the organization has adapted. The board is asking harder questions.

In these moments, what's needed isn't just technical finance skill — it's someone who can step in, build trust quickly, diagnose what's actually happening, and help the organization make sound decisions under pressure.

I bring a hands-on, embedded approach. I work closely with leadership teams, finance staff, and boards — not from the sidelines, but as a working partner. I care about getting the analysis right, but I care just as much about whether the organization can actually act on it.

My background across institutional finance, education, and the nonprofit sector means I understand both the rigor these situations demand and the mission-driven context in which they unfold.
